The Co-operative food launches electrical shop pilots

The Co-operative Food has introduced electrical shop pilots in three of its larger stores.

The pilots use a combination of an in-store display and “pods” where customers can view an electronic catalogue of more than 2,000 products in The Co-operative Electrical’s range.  Larger products are available for delivery within 48 hours.

Sean Toal, Commercial Director, The Co-operative Food, said: “Excellent prices and exceptional customer service are our key priorities in ensuring that the electrical pilots will be a success, and will complement and enhance the existing food shopping experience in these stores.”

James Holland, Managing Director of The Co-operative Electricals, added: “Unlike other food stores, we offer a wide range of products from top global brands such as Sony, Bosch, Dyson and Panasonic.  The Co-operative has many years’ experience of trading in electrical goods, and has an infrastructure in place to manage a large electrical business.”

Lines carried in-store will include white goods such as washing machines, audio, video and personal care items.

The pilots have been installed in The Co-operative’s large stores in Keynsham, Bristol; Nevill Road, Hove and Pyle Cross, Bridgend in South Wales.
