The Broadway appoints new general manager

The Broadway shopping centre in Bradford has appointed Ian Ward as its new general manager.

With over twenty years of retail management experience, Ward’s previous roles include five years at St Johns Shopping Centre in Liverpool during which time he oversaw a multi-million pound refurbishment of the centre.

He is a former chairman of Liverpool City Central Business Improvement District and currently sits on the Board of Trustees at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital’s Ronald McDonald House.

Commenting on his new role, Ward said: “The Broadway has a fantastic mix of national and local retailers and is a magnet for bringing people into Bradford. Since The Broadway opened last November it has gained real momentum, with a number of new retailers and restaurateurs taking space at the centre – and I’m confident this momentum will continue for many years to come.”

In recent weeks, the £260 million centre has welcomed a number of new brands including HMV, Select, Urban Chocolatier, Veri Peri and Millie’s Cookies.

Renee Moran, asset manager at Meyer Bergman, said: “Ian brings years of experience and knowledge having previously managed two large shopping centres. He will be a fantastic asset to the team and will play an integral role in The Broadway’s continued success.”
