The Body Shop announces two new senior appointments

The Body Shop has made two key appointments within its senior team.

Penny Brook has been hired as chief marketing officer and Sally Dowling has been named as the retailer’s chief financial and operations officer.

Until January, Brook served as chief marketing and experience officer at Canada Goose and has also previously worked in senior marketing roles at Philips Consumer Lifestyle, Duo, Clarks and Mulberry.

Meanwhile, Dowling has worked as chief financial officer of The Parts Alliance since 2019 and, prior to that, was Westbridge Food Group.

In a statement on LinkedIn, The Body Shop said: “Their appointment reflects our two priorities as a business going forward:t3o delight customers around the world with trailblazing innovations and the highest standards of ethical beauty; and to bring the company back to fiscal health, building a sustainable company in the truest sense, which can last for decades to come. We are so excited to have them on board.”

In September, The Body Shop was rescued from administration by a consortium led by Mike Jatania’s investment firm Auréa Group. At the same time, Charles Denton, the former head of beauty brand Molton Brown, was appointed as the retailer’s chief executive.
