Tesco trials off-site Click & Collect in schools and car parks
Tesco is piloting an extension of its Click & Collect service which will enable customers to collect their shopping from convenient locations such as schools, car parks, libraries and sports centres.
The trial has been launched in three locations in York and will be rolled out to more cities by Christmas. It is the first time that Tesco has extended its Click & Collect service beyond its store network.
The new service comes as research by IGD reveals that Click & Collect is growing in popularity with nearly one in five online grocery shoppers using the service in the last month.
Simon Belsham, managing director of Tesco.com said: “Customers up and down the country already love using Click & Collect because they can do their shopping trip in a matter of minutes, even with the whole family in tow.

Tesco plans to trial the new service in two more locations before Christmas, including London and Dingwall in Scotland.
The retailer also intends to increase the number of supermarkets offering its Click & Collect Grocery Drive-Through service from 200 to 300 next year.
