Tesco steps up customer service in run-up to Christmas

Tesco has announced that it will have teams of six to nine bag packers at 400 of its stores every day until Christmas Eve.

The staff will not only pack bags but will also help customers by running and grabbing forgotten products or pushing their trolley to their car. There will also be greeters stationed at the entrance of the supermarket’s larger stores.

Tony Hoggett, UK retail director for Tesco, said: “Providing great service to our customers every day is really important to us, but it’s even more important at Christmas. We all know how stressful the Christmas shop can be, but we also know it can be a lot of fun with the right colleague on hand, which is why we’ve invested in having bag packers and greeters.”
