Tesco moves more jobs to India

Tesco is shifting more jobs from the UK to its business support centre in India.
The UK’s biggest retailer is moving 420 jobs from offices in Cardiff, Welwyn Garden City and Dundee to the centre in Bangalore.
Staff in the three offices are to be given help finding other jobs in the company, with some of the affected jobs having been filled by temporary or agency staff.
A Tesco spokeswoman told news agency Reuters: “Everybody will be offered an alternative role at Tesco. Last year we had 350 roles that were moved and 70 percent of the staff that were affected took up alternative positions at Tesco.”
The Bangalore centre was opened last year, employing workers in areas including IT support and finance.
