Tesco has extended its share offer for Dobbies to August 19
Tesco is claiming the support of shareholders representing 32.6 pct of the group’s equity after yesterday’s second deadline. The offer requires the support of more than 50 per cent of Dobbies shareholders to succeed. “If the Offer has not become or been declared unconditional as to acceptances on or before 1.00 p.m. (London time) on 19 August 2007, it will not be extended thereafter and will lapse.” Tesco said in a statement.
Rival bidder Tom Hunter has been told by the Takeover Panel that he must make a decision on whether or not to make a bid for Dobbies garden centres by 5.00pm Today
