Tesco appoints new wine category manager

Tesco has appointed Alain Guilpain as its new category manager for wine. Guilpain replaces Claire Lorains, who has been promoted to category director for Tesco healthcare.

Returning to the UK following his most recent position as trading director for non-food grocery at Tesco in the Czech and Slovak Republics, Guilpain was previously category manager for produce.  He has also held roles across the Tesco fresh and packaged food categories.

Commenting on the appointment, BWS category director Dan Jago said: “Alain’s broad commercial experience will bring valued skills to the wine team.  We look forward to welcoming him and working together to continue to bring excitement, quality and value for money to our customers in the wine aisle.”
