Tesco appoints former Reed Elsevier CFO as non-exec director
Supermarket giant Tesco has appointed former Reed Elsevier chief financial officer Mark Armour as a non-executive director.
Having worked with Reed Elsevier from 1995 to 2012, Armour is credited with playing a key role in the transformation of the business from a broad-based traditional print publisher to a provider of online subscriptions and database products for professional business information. Prior to Reed Elsevier, he worked at Price Waterhouse as a partner in the firm’s audit and business advisory services division.
Armour is currently a non-executive director and chairman of the audit committee of SABMiller and a non-executive director of the Financial Reporting Council.
In a statement Tesco said: “Mark will bring significant financial and international experience to the board, gained from his long career as a CFO for a major global business, and will join the audit committee. He also has considerable experience of digital business transition.”
