Tesco ad campaign for cosmetics ranges
Barbara Daly brand promoted in run-up to Christmas
Tesco is aiming to capture a bigger slice of cosmetics sales in the run-up to Christmas with the first TV ad campaign for its Barbara Daly range.
The ad for the Barbara Daly make-up for Tesco colour cosmetics range is on air for three weeks during December, as part of the Tesco Christmas advertising campaign, which also includes Cherokee fashion and fragrance.
Actress, Joanna Lumley, provides the voice-over, delivering the message: “Cosmetics exclusive to Tesco this Christmas. Created by world famous make-up artist Barbara Daly. Although, to be honest, the prices are a bit more Arthur Daly.”
Joanna Lumley and Barbara Daly have a long standing working relationship and formed a friendship when working together on set for Joanna’s various film and television roles.
The 20 second ad appears on ITV, Channel 4 and Sky TV and takes the Tesco campaign theme, “Every Little Helps”, promoting make-up as an affordable, value-for-money range of professionally created colour cosmetics.
