Ted Baker trading in line with forecasts

Fashion brand continues store expansion
Fashion brand Ted Baker has sounded a cautiously optimistic note as it continues to outperform the tough market being seen by many clothing retailers.

At the company’s annual meeting, Ted Baker chairman Robert Breare said: “Trading since the year-end is in line with our expectations. The results for the full year will, as always, be dependent on trading in the second half of the financial year. The board remains confident of a successful outcome for the year.”
The company has not given trading figures since its year end in January, but said in March that the current financial year had started well, with both retail and wholesale sales ahead of last year.
Breare said: “Since our preliminary results, we have opened a ‘Best in Show’ store in Los Angeles and we are delighted with the initial reaction from customers.”
