Ted Baker shows seasonal style

Sales up 19.3 per cent
January 16 2003
Designer clothing brand Ted Baker saw a 19.3 per cent increase in sales in its retail division for the period from November 1 to December 24.

The company said margins have improved, stock levels are in line with expectations “and we will enter the new season with a clean stock position.”
The figure include the performance at Ted Baker’s largest store so far in Floral Street, Covent Garden, which opened in November. The success of the store has prompted the company to plan the relocation of at least three more stores to bigger and better locations during the coming year, “as we continue to improve the size and quality of our retail portfolio and respond to long term movements in retail markets.”
Chief executive Ray Kelvin, said: “We are pleased with our strong retail performance over Christmas which reflects the strength of the Ted Baker brand. We are also very encouraged by the early success of Floral Street which now houses the World of Ted.”
