GENERAL MERCHANDISE NEWS

T-Mobile UK has released its first corporate responsibility (CR) in-store publication

Created especially for customers, Good Call is available to pick up from any T-Mobile store, and also available online.

It has been launched to give customers more information on the many social and environmental issues that they care about – and what T-Mobile is doing to make a difference.
Allison Murray, Corporate Responsibility Manager, said,”We wanted to strike a balance between talking about the issues, explaining how we’re tackling them with our partners, and giving everyone some easy tips on what they can do too. We think a newsletter format helps us get this balance right. For example, our lead story is about bullying by mobile – nearly a quarter of 11 to 16 year olds have been a victim of cyber bullying. According to this year’s Concerned Consumer Index in The Times, almost 70% of respondents are very worried about children being bullied through mobile phones. T-Mobile, working with government and the rest of the mobile and online industry, is tackling this by providing the right information and advice to teachers and parents. Good Call is a new way for us to give helpful tips to everyone on what they can do to help stop bullies in their tracks.”

Topics in Good Call were selected through research amongst customers and stakeholders. In addition to child safety issues, they include:
* Who made my mobile? How T-Mobile works with its suppliers to encourage high ethical and environmental standards.
* Give your mobile a second life! How T-Mobile recycles phones and what happens to them next?
* Volunteering: how T-Mobile’s employees are making a difference in local communities and gaining useful skills at the same time
* First in store – how we’re reducing the environmental footprint of our stores

T-Mobile will be announcing new elements to its CR strategy in early 2009 and expects to publish a new edition of Good Call every six months.

Good Call is available in 275 stores nationwide and is printed on 100% sustainable, low chlorine paper.
