T.M.Lewin steps up international expansion

The quality business wear retailer opens new stores in Europe, Australia, South East Asia and Africa.

With just under 100 stores across the UK and dedicated websites  in Europe, Australia and the United States,  T.M.Lewin is already one of the world’s leading retailers of professional business wear.

This month, the British shirt maker and tailor has been celebrating a new era of rapid international expansion, with the opening of further stores abroad, in such far flung destinations as Australia, Indonesia and Ghana.

March saw a third T.M.Lewin store open in Prague, with another store due to open in May.

Never Miss a Retail Update!

Australia welcomed a new Melbourne store on April 3rd, which joined the existing flagship T.M.Lewin store in Sydney and added to an Australian portfolio, that also includes the 10 Myer department concessions, with an additional 9 opening by the end of May.

T.M.Lewin now also has 21 stores across South East Asia with a further five-year expansion plan that will see them opening their doors to customers in other markets in the region.

India is another area of rapid international growth. Having signed an exclusive deal at the end of 2012, B.M.I Pte Ltd will now act as sole distributor and franchisee to the brand across the Indian subcontinent. They will be building a network of dedicated T.M.Lewin boutiques in shopping centres and department stores over the next five years.

Steady growth continues in West Africa, where T.M.Lewin is already a well-established brand. A new store in Accra, Ghana opened last month, with more stores to follow this year in Nigeria as part of an ambitious five-year international plan.

T.M.Lewin CEO, Geoff Quinn says,”These are auspicious times for T.M.Lewin internationally and we are increasingly excited to be part of a ‘global style’ movement that is not restricted by borders and distance.  The growing demand for our products overseas is encouraging us to develop a multicultural customer base that stretches far beyond our traditional roots in Jermyn Street to the other side of the world.”

The Retail Bulletin’s 3rd International Expansion Summit will be held in London, March 2014. If you are interested in speaking at this one-day event, please contact Karen Howard on 01737 647103 or email karenh@atheretailbulletin.com
