Supply shortages hurt Jessops

In the six weeks to Jan 5th like for like sales fell 6.9 per cent.

Jessops said it was disappointed it could not satisfy all the demand for SLR cameras over Christmas, as demand was strong. This compunded by the softening of the digital compact cameras market.
“The impact of these ongoing SLR supply problems and the continuing softness of the digital compact camera market has led the board to take a more cautious view of the year as a whole,” the company said.
“Accordingly, the board now expects that the out-turn for the full year will be broadly in line with last year.”
