SuperGroup names Steve Sunnucks as non-exec director

SuperGroup, the owner of the Superdry brand, has appointed Steve Sunnucks as an independent non-executive director.

Due to take up his role on 1 March 2016, Sunnucks has extensive experience in the apparel retail sector after holding a number of senior executive and non-executive roles in the UK and USA.

His previous roles include nine years in leadership positions at Gap where he became global president, and four years as chief executive of New Look. He has also held senior roles at Burton, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.

Peter Bamford, SuperGroup chairman, said: “We are delighted that Steve will be joining the SuperGroup Board. He brings substantial experience in apparel retail, particularly in the USA which will become an increasingly important market to us as we deliver our strategy of becoming a global lifestyle brand. We look forward to working with Steve and sharing in his expertise and insights.”

In addition, SuperGroup has announced that Ken McCall has confirmed his intention to step down from his position as an independent non-executive director and will leave the board on 13 July 2016.

Bamford added: “On behalf of the board I would like to thank Ken for his significant contribution to the Board over the last six years which has seen significant progress in the brand and the company. We wish him well for his future endeavours.”
