SuperGroup enjoys ‘solid’ 1.2% like-for-like sales growth

SuperGroup, the owner of the Superdry brand, grew its like-for-like sales by 1.2% in the 11 weeks to 9 January.

Retail revenues increased by 14.6% to £143.5 million, reflecting the positive impact from the group’s European store roll-out programme.

Euan Sutherland, SuperGroup chief executive, said: “Having made further good progress through our peak trading period our focus remains on delivering our strategic plan to create a global lifestyle brand. This encompasses the continued extension of the Superdry brand and the execution of clear global retail growth opportunities, under-pinned by ongoing investment to strengthen the business.”

The group opened 11 net new stores in the period, of which four were in Germany.
