Superdrug to recruit 800 new apprentices
Superdrug, the health and beauty products retailer has announced that it is supporting National Apprenticeship Week by recruiting 800 new apprentices in 2012.
Organised by the National Apprenticeship Service, the week will run from 6 to 10 February and will celebrate the talents and skills of apprentices and their value to employers.
Superdrug’s apprenticeship programme has been running since 2007 and was established to give employees the chance to develop their skills, confidence, and achieve a nationally recognised qualification. To date over 700 apprentices have been part of the scheme.
This year’s programme is open to all Superdrug staff who have been with the business for at least three months, and work a minimum of 16 hours a week and offers a chance to ‘learn while you earn’.
Jo Mackie, HR Director said: “Superdrug is a people business and we know our success depends on the skills of everyone who works with us.
“Our Team Academy training programme offers colleagues the confidence and skills they need to expand their learning and further their career. We’re delighted to continue to support apprenticeships and see the results of the training everyday in our stores, head office and distribution centres.”
