Subway to expand forecourt outlets with Euro Garages
Sandwich retailer Subway is to open a further 69 stores across the Euro Garages forecourt estate by 2016 as it looks to open more outlets in non-high street locations.
The expansion drive will create around 700 jobs with the new stores bringing the total number of Subway outlets on Euro Garages sites in the UK to 100.
Trevor Haynes, area development manager for Subway UK and Ireland, said: “The forecourt and convenience sector is a key area of growth for the Subway brand. The simple operations that are involved in running a Subway franchise and the convenience offer make it a perfect fit for these style locations.
“We have had a very long and successful relationship with Euro Garages and are looking to build on this with future store roll-outs. Working with companies such as Euro Garages, the Subway brand can take a collaborative approach that delivers a flexible business model, real partner benefits, including increased footfall, on-going marketing support, sustainable sales and excellent business growth opportunities.”
Never Miss a Retail Update!Ilyas Munshi, commercial director, Euro Garages, added: “We already own and operate a considerable number of Subway stores across our existing estate and our investment in the brand has been a huge success. We are committed to working with the Subway brand to complete the necessary site investment, excited about the job creation opportunities and providing training and skills development.”
The announcement follows the recent statement that the Subway brand in partnership with Ireland-based independent forecourt retailer, Applegreen, is to launch further stores across the UK and Ireland.
