Stuart Rose off Boots shortlist, says report

Names linked to chief executive role ruled out
February 13 2003
Former Arcadia chief executive is not on the shortlist of candidates for the chief executives job at Boots, according to a report in the independent newspaper.

Other names linked to the role, including Argos chief executive Terry Duddy, Sainsbury’s deputy managing director Sara Weller and Tesco marketing director Tim Mason, are also said to have also been ruled out by Boots.
The report says there is a shortlist in place, and names finance director Howard Dodd as a possible internal candidate.
Boots had originally indicated that announcement would be made by this month, but may be trying to avoid a long gap between the announcement of a replacement for chief executive Steve Russell and the new appointee taking up the role.
