Stanford ups stake in Moss Bros

Former Karen Millen boss targets tailor
July 17 2002
Retail entrepreneur Kevin Stanford has built up a 4.75 per cent stake in Moss Bros.

Stanford’s interest in the High Street tailor business emerged when the purchase of a block of shares took him above the 3 per cent required to appear on the shareholder register.
Stanford and his wife sold their 49 per cent stake in Karen Millen last year.
Moss Bros has recently been the subject of takeover approaches by Sami Ahmed, founder of Joe Bloggs jeans, and Harold Tillman, owner of Baird Menswear Brands.
Moss Bros operates around 180 stores under the Moss, Coda, Cecil Gee and Suit Company brands, as well as UK licences for interational brands including Hugo Boss.
