Spirited Wines has acquired wine chain Nicolas UK from French drinks giant Castel for an undisclosed sum.
Benoît Thouvenin, owner of Spirited Wines and the former head of operations at Nicolas UK, said only 25% of the 43 Nicolas shops would trade under the Nicolas name with the remainder being rebranded as Spirited Wine stores.
