Søstrene Grene to launch flagship London store
Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene is to launch a flagship central London store as part of plans to open 100 new shops across the UK by 2030.
Set to open this winter, the 5,000-square-foot unit on Tottenham Court Walk will be the retailer’s largest UK store to date.
The move will follow successful launches in Wandsworth and Kingston-upon-Thames earlier this year.
With over 275 stores across Europe, Søstrene Grene has established a significant international presence and is setting ambitious goals for the UK market.
Founded in 1973 by the Grene family, Søstrene Grene is now led by Mikkel Grene, who assumed the role of chief executive and co-owner in 2011.
Grene said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of our inaugural central London store in the Tottenham Court Road area. This is a pivotal moment for our brand as we continue to expand the world of Søstrene Grene.”
The retailer’s stores across Northern Ireland, Southern England, and Scotland, are operated by its UK joint venture partners, Norma Jacob and Richard Power.
Jacob said: “This is a very exciting time for Søstrene Grene and we can’t wait to open the new location. A Central London store has been an ambition of ours and it’s great to see it come to fruition.”
Power added: “As the brand expands throughout the UK we continue to see its rise in popularity. With the recent webshop launch and now our first Central London store, Søstrene Grene is on track to becoming a household name.”
Søstrene Grene is asking anyone with recommendations regarding potential Søstrene Grene locations in the UK to contact its UK real estate director, Mette Vestergaard Jacobsen, at mette.jacobsen@sostrenegrene.com.
