Søstrene Grene debuts in Hampshire

Danish homeware brand Søstrene Grene has opened its first store in Hampshire at Festival Place.

Spanning 14,546 square feet, the Basingstoke shop features the brand’s ‘Retail for the Senses’ concept that blends a unique labyrinth-like store layout, with subdued lighting and classical music to provide a calm atmosphere for shoppers. The store will sell Søstrene Grene’s signature range of home décor products, hobby supplies, children’s toys, furniture, and kitchen essentials.

Norma Jacob and Richard Power, UK joint venture partners at Søstrene Grene, said: “Opening a store in Hampshire was key to our continued expansion and desire to make Søstrene Grene stores as accessible as possible, so Festival Place is the ideal home.

“We look forward to welcoming customers and continuing to introduce our ‘Retail for the Senses’, promising a little bit of Danish ‘hygge’ for all.”

Other recent premium lifestyle additions to Festival Place have included local homeware and gifts retailer Fig & Fox and luxury wellbeing brand Rituals.

Poppy Radford, asset manager at Sovereign Centros from CBRE, said: “The addition of another sought-after lifestyle brand in Søstrene Grene is another milestone moment for Festival Place, as we continue to expand the centre’s offer of quality, accessible premium retailers. Community is at the forefront of our strategy, and the entrance of a customer-focused, experience-led brand in Søstrene Grene, for a Hampshire debut, delivers exactly what our visitors want from Festival Place.”

The news follows openings by health food store Grape Tree and beauty and cosmetics retailer Aimy Beauty at Festival Place in recent weeks..
