Solid results from Game

expectations and be slightly ahead of last year.

For the 49 week period ended on 6 January 2007 total Group sales were up by 23.3 per cent and. Group LFL sales were up by 15.4 per cent.
Total sales for the UK and Ireland were up by 18.3 per cent with LFL sales up by 16.9 per cent.
Total sales for Continental Europe were up by 41.2 per cent with LFL sales up by 10.4 per cent.Commenting on the Christmas trading period Peter Lewis, Chairman said ‘Our Christmas sales performance was excellent particularly given the very strong comparatives for the previous year when the Microsoft Xbox 360 launched. This year there was strong demand for all formats, in particular for the Nintendo DS Lite and the most recent market entrant, the Nintendo Wii, which launched in
Europe on 8 December 2006. We have traded well and gained good momentum throughout this year which has reinforced our position as Europe’s leading specialist retailer of pc and video games. We look forward to the much anticipated launch of the Sony Playstation 3
in 2007.’
