Sofaland to open first store in London

Online leather sofa retailer Sofaland is to open its first store in London.

The retailer said it is planning to open a 5,000 square foot showroom in the capital as it looks to expand into the south east of England and build its brand across the UK. Sofaland already has a physical presence in Warrington, Liverpool and Birmingham and is looking to open a new store in the UK every 12 months.

Sofaland said the decision to open a store in London was backed by research which showed that the majority of visitors to its website were from the London area.

Managing director Michael Savva said: “We are delighted to announce our plans to open a new Sofaland store in London. It was always my intention to open another store in 2014 and due to the success of the Birmingham store which opened this year we are now in a position to push ahead with plans. This is a long term project. My intention is to open another store every 12 months across the UK.”
