Sofa Workshop deal costs 120 jobs
31 January, 2009 | by Retail Bulletin
Sofa Workshop has been sold out of administration but the firm’s sale will cost 120 jobs.
Administrators Leonard Curtis said 10 of the company’s 30 stores had been bought by Erewash Upholstery, which is controlled by a consortium of investors led by Andrew Cussins, who founded Sofa Workshop in 1985. Administrator Neil Bennett said: “It is unfortunate that we have not been able to save more of the original jobs but what is important is that we are ensuring the completion of all current customer orders – all of which will be taken on by the new business.”
