Snappy Snaps expands with FotoStop deal

Photo retailer adds badged operation
Snappy Snaps is expanding its share of the UK photo and digital developing market with a deal to acquire the FotoStop Express business.

Snappy Snaps operates 154 branches on a franchise basis, while FotoStop is a badged operation, with 267 independent traders using the FotoStop name. It offers a one-hour photo service via minilabs, usually located within other retail businesses such as pharmacies.
The groups will continue to trade as seperate businesses, targeting different, yet complementary segments of the market.
Snappy Snaps director Derek Wybrow said: “This is great news and exciting times for both brands. Whilst the photo industry adapts to the digital era, we continue to thrive and grow. This acquisition takes us from 154 to 421 branches, and we see great opportunities to expand both brands and to selectively acquire further outlets.”
