Shop Direct hires first business development director

Shop Direct, the owner of Very.com and Littlewoods.com, has hired Sally-Anne Newson as its first business development director as it looks to grow commercial partnerships.

With 16 years of retail experience in business development, digital and marketing, Newson’s previous roles include chief executive of online fashion retailer Atterley, business development director at ASOS and head of multichnannel retail at Woolworth Group in Australia. She also spent eight years at eBay in Australia where she rose to the position of head of buyer experience.

Alex Baldock, chief executive at Shop Direct, said: “Building strong partnerships with innovative, like-minded companies is helping us offer the best experience for our customers. That’s why we’ve brought in Sally-Anne. She’s got the skills to take us even further; developing new and existing relationships to accelerate our journey towards world class.”
