Shaftesbury appoints marketing head
Shaftesbury has appointed Karen Baines as its head of group marketing and communications.
Due to join the company on 31 May, Baines will be responsible for Shaftesbury’s media strategies and promotional activity across its high-profile West End retail, restaurant and leisure destinations, including Carnaby, Chinatown and Seven Dials.
Baines is currently head of marketing and communications at the Heart of London Business Alliance, the West End Business Improvement Districts which represent 500 businesses and 100 property owners in the Piccadilly & St James’s and Leicester Square & Piccadilly Circus areas.
Shaftesbury’s portfolio extends to 14 acres and includes 583 shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs, extending to over one million square feet in Carnaby, Chinatown, Seven Dials, Soho, and Charlotte Street. The portfolio also includes 422,000 square feet of offices and 509 apartments.
