Secret Sales introduces fulfilment service to support platform’s brands

Online marketplace Secret Sales has launched a new fulfilment service to support brands requiring a UK distribution centre.

The company said the move is designed to solve logistics challenges for brands on the platform whose geographical location or technical infrastructure prevents them from fulfilling orders directly to consumers in the UK.

Fulfilment by Secret Sales  will be a fully-managed logistical solution which enables brands and retailers to ship goods in bulk to Secret Sales’ UK warehouse. From there. goods will be picked, packed and shipped via 24 or 48 hour tracked services. The facility will also handle returns.

Chris Griffin, chief executive of Secret Sales, said: “Our premium ecommerce marketplace model, with digitally connected inventory and brand to consumer shipping is by far the most efficient, sustainable and profitable way for brands and retailers to trade non full price inventory, however we understand the challenges faced by a number of brands unable to fulfil the last piece of the puzzle if their stock is based in continental Europe or Brexit regulations are making selling directly to UK consumers prohibitively expensive.”

Brands will be required to pay a subsidised monthly management fee, alongside a per parcel pick, pack and ship rate.  Secret Sales is planning to gradually roll out the service  to each country it trades in.

With headquarters in the UK, Secret Sales has operations in the Netherlands and Belgium and is planning to launch in 12 more European countries over the next two years.
