ScS strengthens its management team with senior appointments
ScS, the upholstered furniture and flooring retailer, has made a series of senior appointments as it looks to drive forward its growth plans.
The new structure will see the management board make two new appointments including a managing director and corporate services director. It also includes the arrival of the group’s new chief financial officer, Chris Muir. All members of the management board will report to the ScS chief executive, David Knight.
In addition to finance, Muir will also have responsibility for IT, business reporting and company secretarial matters under the new structure. As previously announced, his appointment follows the decision by Ron Turnbull to step down from the board after ten years with the group.
In further a move, Kevin Royal, formerly the group’s sales director, has been appointed as ScS’s new managing director with responsibility for its 97 UK stores and 28 House of Fraser concessions. Royal joined ScS in 1981 as a trainee store manager when it was purely a North East based retailer.
In addition, Marie Liston, formerly the group’s HR director, has taken up the new role of corporate services director. Having been with ScS for 15 years, she will continue to oversee its HR operations with additional responsibility for customer service, internal audit, health and safety and regulatory compliance, central administration and the group’s property functions.
ScS said it has also begun the search for a sales director, brand development director and commercial director.
David Knight, ScS chief executive, said: “These appointments clearly demonstrate our commitment to planning for the group’s future, developing all areas of our business further and enabling us to maximise opportunities for growth. We’re also looking to further strengthen our management team with the appointment of three new director roles in order to support our growth plans.”
