Schuh to open first out-of-town store

Footwear retailer Schuh has chosen the Teesside Shopping Park in Stockton-on-Tees as the location for its first out-of-town store.

The retailer has taken 4,950 sq ft outlet in the British Land owned shopping park. The store will open in the early autumn.

Colin Temple, Schuh managing director, said: “We are delighted to have added Teesside Shopping Park to our portfolio.  We were really impressed by the quality of the retailers and the environment there and are confident it will provide a solid platform to continue to grow our brand from.”

John Maddison, head of retail park asset management for British Land, added: “We are delighted to work with yet another brand and bring Schuh out of town for the first time. Teesside continues to be a test bed for innovative new formats and Schuh’s addition will further strengthen our compelling customer offer.”
