Schuh steps into first store in Chester
Footwear retailer Schuh is to open its first store in Chester.
The retailer has taken a 10-year lease on 5,450 sq ft unit at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre in the city. The store will be the first standalone shop for Schuh in Chester and is due to open late 2012.
Existing tenants at the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, which is owned by The Carlyle Group and Bride Hall, include the newly opened Jack Jones and Jigsaw units and the recently refitted Top Shop/Top Man, as well as Boodles, Footlocker, H & M, Hugo Boss, LK Bennett and River Island.
Linsay Miller, estates manager at Schuh, said: “We are delighted to have secured a retail store in Grosvenor Shopping Centre. Chester was one of our most long standing and high priority requirements in the UK and we are looking forward to the store opening later this year.”
Roger Gorham, director at Bride Hall, added: “This is a hugely significant letting for our shopping centre. Schuh is one of the strongest brands on the UK high street at the moment and we are delighted and very excited about their opening in Grosvenor Shopping Centre.”
