Sales at Liverpool ONE rise by 15%

The Liverpool ONE retail and leisure destination has seen a 15% increase in year-to-date sales compared to the same period in 2014 following new additions to its retail line-up.

Footfall at the Grosvenor operated scheme is also up so far this year, rising by 4%.

Sales across the key categories of clothing, accessories and jewellery have climbed by 20% after being boosted by additions such as Michael Kors, which opened its first store in the North West at Liverpool ONE, and fashion retailer Zara. Other new stores include Radley and Cath Kidston.

Miles Dunnett, director of portfolio management at Grosvenor, said: “Liverpool ONE’s performance in the first quarter of the year continues the momentum set in 2014. The most recent additions to our offer are clearly delivering what the North West wants, which also coincides with a growth in consumer confidence in the region.

“Word of Liverpool ONE’s success is spreading as more and more brands make it their first choice when expanding out of London and the South East. 90% of the brands we have added in the last two years are new to the region, and results such as these are their reward.”

The news coincides with the publication of a survey by TripAdvisor of global travellers to the UK in which Liverpool was named as one of the top five places to visit in the country
