Sainsbury’s launches video-on-demand service
Sainsbury’s has launched its new video on demand service as it looks to strengthen its digital entertainment offer.
The new service allows customers to buy or rent films and watch them immediately on their computer or an Apple device. Customers will have access to over 300 films with blockbusters such as “Life of Pi”, “Jack Reacher” and “Les Misérables” available to stream or download on the same day they are available on DVD.
The service is offered on a pay-as-you go basis without any subscription fees. Rental prices start from £1.99 per film for 30 days, while films are also available for purchase from £6.99, with newer releases starting at £12.99.
Jon Rudoe, Sainsbury’s director of online, digital & cross-channel, said: “We’ve worked hard to expand our digital entertainment offer for our customers.
Never Miss a Retail Update!“With the recent launch of eBooks by Sainsbury’s, the launch of Video On Demand allows our customers to enjoy their favourite books and films from Sainsbury’s Entertainment when and how they want – be it through digital downloads or physical copies of DVDs, Blu-rays, CDs or books.”
