Sainsbury’s launches free healthy eating advice in store
The advice, which will be provided by Sainsbury’s pharmacists that have had nutritional training, will be free to customers in over 230 Sainsbury’s stores across the UK.
The advisors will be on hand to customers to offer healthy eating advice and provide them with information that they can take away and read at home. This advice will be tailored to the individual so if they are pregnant or overweight they will receive information that is right for them.
Michael Luck, Sainsbury’s Category Manager for Pharmacy & Healthcare,
said: “At Sainsbury’s we aim to be best for food and health so we are very excited about this new service that we can offer our customers.
Advice will be free and in confidence so we are sure that it will be very popular with shoppers.
“Everyone is aware of the current obesity crisis and the strain that this is putting on NHS resources. Over 20 million customers visit our stores every week and we hope that our healthy eating advisors will play a part in improving the nation’s health.”
The healthy eating advisors are the latest initiative from Sainsbury’s following the launch of Sainsbury’s Diets, an online scheme which helps customers manage their weight responsibly, eat healthy food and incorporate exercise into their daily lifestyle. Earlier this year Sainsbury’s also launched the Little Ones Baby & Toddler Club which provides easy, delicious recipes that are perfect for families with young children.
