Russell & Bromley launches first e-commerce website

Luxury shoe retailer Russell & Bromley has launched its first e-commerce website.

The retailer said the decision to change to a transactional site was based on meeting the demands of its customers, who were increasingly visiting the information-only site and asking where they could shop online.

Brendan Regan, head of marketing at Russell & Bromley explained: “Our goal is for the online part of the business to become our best-selling store. The Venda platform will help us to achieve this as it offers a pioneering ecommerce solution that has the flexibility and ability to grow and scale quickly.”
Russell and Bromley operates 45 shops nationwide including a flagship store in London’s New Bond Street.
Eric Abensur, group CEO at Venda, said: “It’s great to see our platform being used to support new strategies across highly respected high street retailers such as Russell & Bromley. E-commerce is rapidly moving from a supplementary element to a central tenant of any brand’s retail strategy. An online presence has the power to augment and add value to every part of a multi-channel retail strategy, with better data and a consistent and powerful platform for brand story-telling.”
The new website will give the retailer the opportunity to gather customer data, including wish lists, transaction records and customer details, as well as to personalise the customer shopping experience through recommendations and targeted offers.
Regan added: “E-commerce gives us a valuable opportunity to develop our customer contact. The data-gathering opportunity that the platform presents means that we’ll be able to tailor our products and retail experience to drive sales.”

Make sure your company connects with your customers at every touchpoint by attending the Retail Bulletin’s 4th Multichannel Retailing Summit 6th February 2013. Speakers include N Brown Group, Lovehoney, John Lewis, Gravis Germany, Evans Cycles, Snow & Rock, A Suit That Fits, Tesco.com, Asda Direct, Ladbrokes, Google, Visa, eDigital Research, Shutl, Demanware, Experian, Bazaarvoice…
