Rohan reports strong performance in 2015

Outdoor and travel clothing specialist Rohan has reported a strong performance in 2015.

The company’s profits have risen to £2.35 million from £1.26 million in the previous year.

Following difficult trading which saw Rohan in serious financial difficulties in 2012, the brand has focused on building a strong rapport with its customers which has helped to achieve the turnaround.

Rohan has seen a 15% year-on-year increase in womenswear sales in the UK during the year. Sales of women’s trousers are up by almost a quarter and fleece up by nearly a third despite a warm autumn.

In 2012 Rohan began testing a mail order service in the United States. Since then testing has continued with an expectation of a $1 million turnover by the end of 2015.

Rohan managing director Roger Cann said: “We have had a fantastic year of trading at Rohan, both at home and with our increasingly engaged customer base.

“We are pleased with our progress from loss to stable profit in 3 years and will continue to focus on delivering brilliant outdoor and travel clothing, service and advice to our UK customers and to test and grow our presence in the US.”
