Rimmers Music sales boosted by lockdown
Rimmers Music has revealed that its musical instruments sales doubled during the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, the company found that the number of UK consumers googling “learn guitar” quadrupled at certain points in March compared to January while searches for “guitar for beginners” doubled.
Rimmers’ sales data from March to July shows which instruments budding musicians were most keen to master while at home during lockdown. Guitars were the most popular choice followed by pianos, keyboards and drums.
Cathy Tate, co-owner of Rimmers Music, said: “We are so thankful for all our loyal customers who continued to shop with us online whilst our stores were closed. Though lockdown has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, it’s great to see that many Brits have decided to pick up an instrument for the first time and will be coming out of lockdown with a wonderful new skill and hobby.”
Established in 1978, Rimmers Music operates six stores in the North West of England and one store in Edinburgh
