RetailTRUST calls on retailers to support workers affected by Storm Desmond

Retail charity RetailTRUST has urged retailers to support workers who have been affected by the aftermath of Storm Desmond.

While the charity has pledged to provide help through free counselling services and legal and financial support, it says it needs donations to keep providing the services to those in need.

With this in mind, it has called on retailers to support their fellow workers by making donations to the RetailTRUST JustGiving page. The charity has also suggested holding staff fundraising events in the coming days to raise money for the RetailTRUST Cumbria and Lancashire Fund for Affected Retail Families.

RetailTRUST offers hardship grants and short-term financial assistance to those affected as well as help on issues such as applying for an insurance claim, advice on tenants’ rights and obligations in a disaster situation.

RetailTRUST is also urging retailers in the North West to direct affected staff to its website or to call the free helpline on 0808 801 0808 for assistance.
