Republic launches home delivery service for customers shopping in-store
Multi-brand fashion retailer Republic has launched a new service where customers shopping in-store can have their goods delivered to their homes.
The retailer has extended its use of Venda Web Services and APIs to integrate with its e-commerce fulfilment process to allow a sale to be completed even if a store is temporarily out of a product.
The new implementation will enable Republic’s in-store Torex EPOS system to pass information on a sale that is conducted in-store to its Venda-powered online store, where the transaction is completed.
Republic said the new service will allow its customers to further engage with the retailer across multiple touch points including mobile, tablet and social, giving a true multi-channel customer experience.
Jo Molineux, head of multi-channel at Republic, commented: “At Republic we are committed to providing the best shopping experience for our customers to ensure they have access to our products anytime, anywhere.
“Venda’s Web Services and APIs will strategically enhance our multi-channel commerce offering by giving our valuable customers another way to enjoy shopping with Republic. They will now be able to enjoy browsing and shopping in-store but with the added advantage of a home delivery service.”
Eric Abensur, group CEO at Venda, added: “In this day and age, it’s important that retailers understand the needs of their customers and act accordingly. A recent report from PwC revealed that 20% of UK shoppers would prefer a home delivery when purchasing in-store and Republic has reacted to this by working with Venda to offer this innovative service to its customers.”
Republic has 115 stores across the UK and employs 2,500 people. In 2010 the company achieved a turnover of £225 million.
