Rampant Christmas at Ann Summers

Adult gifts generate record sales
It seems that plenty of people will have found more than a tangerine in their Christmas stocking after Ann Summers reported a strong sales increase in the run-up to Christmas.

The partywear and adult novelties retailer has reported a 10 per cent increase in like-for-like sales though its 171 stores in December, building on a similar increase in November.
Ann Summers saw 1m customers in its stores across the eight weeks before the Christmas holiday, with stores including the group’s outlet in the Trafford Centre Manchester recording their best-ever performance.
Its best sellers during the festive period were the Rampant Rabbit Platinum and Rampant Rabbit vibrators, as well as Allure lingerie, Toffee Body Drizzle, Chocolate Body Paint, Sweetheart lingerie, Naughty Bits Choc Bar, Feather Boa, Thrill lingerie and Promise vibrator.
Chief executive Jacqueline Gold said: “Santa was kept very busy unloading sackfuls of Rampant Rabbits.”
