Quiz and Smiggle to join Maidstone’s Fremlin Walk

The Fremlin Walk shopping centre in Maidstone has added two new brands to its retail line-up.

M&G Real Estate has signed up womenswear fashion brand, Quiz, for a 3,459 square foot unit, while Australian stationery company, Smiggle, has taken a 568 square foot store.

Previously a concession in Fremlin Walk’s House of Fraser store, Quiz has decided to open its own shop in the heart of the shopping centre. Meanwhile, Smiggle’s store is its first in Maidstone and forms part of a major roll-out of stores across the country.

John Cheston, managing director of Smiggle, said: “We’re excited to be opening our 35th store for the UK in Maidstone at Fremlin Walk. It’s a fantastic destination that is perfectly positioned for a Smiggle store.”

The news follows the recent signing of Jack Wills which is taking a 3,500 square foot unit on a six-month trial at Fremlin Walk.

Scott Linard, director of asset management at M&G Real Estate, said “As retailers such as Quiz and Smiggle expand their operations across the UK, they are looking at prime retail schemes in regional hubs such as Fremlin Walk. With some of the most loved brands in the country, the centre is a regional success story with aspirations to further increase both footfall and dwell time.”
