Punch Taverns names new CEO
Punch Taverns has appointed Duncan Garrood as its new chief executive.
Due to take up his new role on or before 15 June, Garrood will join Punch from MH Alshaya where he has worked as president of the food division since 2009. This includes responsibility for a retail division of 1,000 franchised outlets.
Prior to MH Alshaya, Garrood was commercial director at airport operator BAA and he has also previously worked at Unilever and SC Johnson.
Punch’s executive chairman Stephen Billingham will revert to the role of non-executive chairman when Garrood joins the business.
Billingham said: “Duncan is an exceptional individual who will strengthen the senior team at Punch. He brings a great combination of strategic and operational experience within major organisations. These skills will be invaluable to Punch’s future development.”
