Primark to extend and refurbish Luton store

Primark is to extend and refurbish its store at Luton’s The Mall shopping centre.

The shop will be made almost 40% bigger and have a new look to reflect the fashion retailer’s latest shop fit and design.

Philippa Nibbs, Primark director of sales for the UK South and East, said: “We are excited to be refurbishing and extending our store at The Mall to bring our customers a better shopping experience. The addition of 9,800 square  feet means we can offer even more of our amazing fashion at amazing prices to the people of Luton and the surrounding areas.”

Due to be completed this winter, the shop will have have 35,500 square feet of retail space and will aim to offer an enhanced shopping experience. The building works will be phased to enable the store to remain open throughout the construction period.

Roy Greening, general manager at The Mall Luton, added: “We’re delighted to announce Primark will be extending their store size. The last 18 months has proved difficult for the shopping centre industry, and we’re thrilled to announce we’ve welcomed six new stores here to The Mall since non-essential reopened 12 April.”
