Predator Nutrition to open first flagship store
Sports nutrition specialist Predator Nutrition is about to unveil its first flagship concept store in Leeds city centre.
Having just celebrated its fifth birthday, the Leeds based company has grown 40% year-on- year and has enjoyed a good start to 2013 with sales and profits rising by over 50%. At the end of the last financial year, it achieved sales of £4 million and is on target for sales of £8 million by the end of 2013.
Reggie Johal, founder and managing director, started Predator Nutrition from his family home. Having previously worked at Deloitte and Touche in London, Johal was keen to follow his passion of becoming an American Football Player and left the professional services industry to pursue that dream. Successfully playing American Football for Great Britain, Johal trained and perfected his nutritional intake, reading and understanding everything there was to know about health and nutrition.
Frustrated by the lack of choice in sports nutrition and the fact some brands had little representation in the UK market place, Johal saw a gap in the market. Putting his in-depth knowledge of nutrition to good use, he turned his love of sport into a business and Predator Nutrition was born.
Never Miss a Retail Update!Johal said: “Our strength lies in the fact we are able to cater for a wide audience, we’re a complete omni-channel retailer. We stand apart from our competitors because we have outstanding relationships with some of the world’s biggest brands and access to exclusive supplements. Our partnerships with these leading brands allow us to create bespoke deals that are simply not available anywhere else.”
Instead of offering a more traditional retail layout, Predator Nutrition’s shop will include space where shoppers can participate in workshops and consultations on training and nutrition, as well as specialist therapies such as sports massage and physiotherapy.
Customers will also be able to sit down and relax in a chill out area and watch video content on training, supplement reviews and interviews with leading experts. In addition, a range of protein recipes, protein ice-cream will be on offer as well as pre or post work out drinks from the supplement dispenser.
With a minimal and modular design, the 1,256 sq ft store will be home to 10 exclusive brands. Customers will have access to the Predator Nutrition community in store via touch screen interaction which will allow them to search for products as well as giving them access to the company website knowledge base.
