Poundworld unveils e-commerce website

Poundworld has launched its new e-commerce website Poundworld Plus as it looks to drive growth across Europe.

The new site will offer over 4,000 products including household brands such as Colgate, Coca Cola and Johnsons, all at the price of £1. In addition, there will be over 1,000 multi-price deals for over £1 that will be available exclusively to buy online. Items will range from garden furniture to pet food, licensed Minions merchandise to mobile phones as well as big value grocery items.

The new site will initially offer delivery from £3.95 to the UK, Eire and Channel Islands but the retailer is planning to deliver EU-wide from summer 2015. There will also be a next day delivery service priced at £5.95.

With a turnover of £345 million, the company run by Chris Edwards and his son Chris currently has over 270 high street stores.

Chris Edwards Junior, trading director at Poundworld Retail, said: “Value and convenience are top priorities for the UK shopper. There is a huge consumer demand for an online store that delivers good, transparent value and consistent prices that the shopper can trust.”

“As a retailer it’s important for us to constantly progress and evolve with the times and so we’ve had a dedicated team working on the site for over one year to ensure that the shopping experience we are offering is easy to use.

“No other online discounter on the market can offer the same amazing product range and value and we’re excited to expand in to Europe later in the year.”
