Poundland extends online offer to Yorkshire and more areas in the Midlands

Poundland is doubling the size of its pilot online delivery service to millions more customers by extending it to Yorkshire and more areas in the Midlands.

After being tested from earlier in the year by an initial 18,000 Poundland staff and selected guests, the service was expanded to 1.8 million people in Birmingham and Walsall postcodes in May and 1.9 million in Stoke-on-Trent, Derby, Wolverhampton and Dudley postcodes in June.

With the addition of areas with Nottingham, Leicester, Coventry and Telford postcodes, as well as Sheffield postcodes in South Yorkshire, the service is now available to more than seven million households.

Poundland retail and transformation director Austin Cooke said: “After a positive response to our initial pilot, we opened the trial to more areas in the Midlands and now we’re making another move which will take us across a big part of the Midlands and into Yorkshire.”

Since the launch, the range of products for home delivery has been expanded to more than 3,000, including some exclusive offers only available online. Delivery is charged at a flat fee of £4 regardless of the order size.
