Pop Mart opens UK debut store

Art toy brand Pop Mart has launched its debut UK store in London’s Chinatown district.

Situated at 80 Shaftesbury Avenue, the store will sell some of Pop Mart’s latest and most exclusive collectibles, many of which are becoming available in the UK for the first time. These will include art toy products created by designers Kenny, Pucky, and Kasing Lung.

The store also offers its trademark mystery boxes where customers can collect secret, hidden, or chase collectibles amongst regular characters.

Kris Kim, Pop Mart international director, said: “As a market leader in China, we have been considering Pop Mart’s expansion plans carefully and opening our debut UK store is a momentous milestone for the brand. Chinatown London is iconic, not only in the capital but across the globe, and we are so happy to call it our home.”

Samantha Bain-Mollison, property director at Shaftesbury, added: “Chinatown London represents what is happening in the Far East right now, in its food, retail, and leisure culture. The art toy sector is now the most popular hobby amongst young people in China, so Pop Mart makes for a fantastic and natural addition to the cultural line-up in Chinatown London.”
